Cancer ♋ January 2021 Horoscope: Love, Money & Career

There is a bit of everything this month though the major theme is Jupiter and Saturn’s return to your financial sector just before Christmas and the major opportunity this has created to take your financial power back. This doesn’t have to happen overnight, for with Saturn here until 2023 and Jupiter spending the first and the last five months of 2021 here, this is less an event and more a shift. In their first full month, before Jupiter draws ahead to promote financial growth, this is a coming together of the planet of luck and expansion’s sense of what’s possible and Saturn’s resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

They will be joined by Mercury, who will return to your financial sector on 9th January for what should be a 14 to 15 day visit aimed at giving you the smart head for money needed to make smart financial choices, decisions and plans, especially when it comes to more mundane money matters. Instead, a retrograde turn on 31st January will keep Mercury here until March. Mercury will be here throughout the Sun’s month long visit, which begins on 20th January and while Venus, the planet of money is here next month.

Meanwhile, Venus not only begins the month in your work sector but is supporting Mars in his final days in your career sector. The Moon will form a friendly aspect to both when it returns to your income sector on New Year’s Day and before leaving on 3rd January, creating an auspicious start to the month across the income, work and career fronts. While Mars will leave on 7th January and Venus on 9th January, they both leave behind forces that can keep the momentum going and the Moon will repeat those same conditions when it comes full circle on 28th January. This time it will be to create the first Full Moon of 2021, in your income sector on 29th January.

The Sun will always spend the first three weeks of January in your relationship sector but there is likely to be less weight, heaviness, seriousness or pressure after Saturn left just before Christmas. This brought a three year relationship boot camp to a close but along with Jupiter, who wrapped up his 12 month visit just a few days later, this has left you with a sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you that will impact all your relationships moving forward. With Jupiter and Saturn gone but the Sun having returned for his annual visit just after they left, this is an opportunity for a fresh start.

The Sun will keep the solar spotlight on your relationships until 20th January while until leaving on 9th January Mercury, the planet of communication will work to ensure the communication lines are open. He will get help with that when the Moon makes its first visit to your communication sector for the year from 3rd January to 5th January, before coming full circle again on 30th January. Venus will return to your relationship sector on 9th January, the same day that Mercury leaves but just a few hours later so their paths won’t cross.

However, having done his job of getting the communication lines open and with the solar spotlight still on your relationships, Venus will return with the magic. Venus will be here when the Moon moves through from 12th January to 14th January, aligning with the Sun on 13th January to create the first New Moon of 2021. This will be a chance for the Sun, Moon and Venus to come together in order to draw a new line in the sand, with an opportunity for new beginnings. Venus will return to your relationship sector while the Moon is making its first visit to your romantic sector for the year, from 7th January to 10th January, with a chance to bring the spirit of romance into your relationships.

While the Sun will always return to your financial sector in January, even before his return on 20th January and Mercury’s on 9th January it is clear that this is no ordinary financial year. Thanks to their return to your financial sector just before Christmas, you begin the year with Jupiter and Saturn still in their early days here and as you are still adjusting to having the giants of the solar system together here at the same time in six decades. Saturn is here now until 2023 but Jupiter will race through before leaving in May, only to retrograde back in July to spend another five months here.

Saturn is the one that will provide the solid backbone and Jupiter is the planet that will go out in search of opportunities for financial growth and expansion. Having aligned in their early days here, you begin the year with Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion’s sense of what’s possible and Saturn’s determination to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. While the faster planets will come and go, Jupiter and Saturn are the backbone that will make 2021 one of your most powerful financial years in decades. Mercury is the first of the faster planets to arrive, returning on 9th January for what should be a 14 to 15 day visit that can give you the smart head for money needed to make smart financial choices, decisions and plans.

Instead, a retrograde phase will keep Mercury here until March, with the Sun returning on 20th January to turn the solar spotlight onto your financial situation and money matters, as he does at this time every year. The Moon will make its first visit to your financial sector for the year and since Jupiter and Saturn’s return from 14th January to 16th January, with a chance to check in. Meanwhile, while there is no planetary activity in your income sector, the Moon will return on New Year’s Day to give you a sharp nose for money and a lucrative sense of direction from the get go. The Moon will come full circle on 28th January to create the first Full Moon of 2021 here on 29th January, with lucrative implications.

While the Sun and Mercury left your work sector just before Christmas, on both the job and career fronts there was no slow down at the end of last year and if anything an acceleration. On both fronts this is because of retrograde phases in 2020, impacting your two professional houses though one directly and the other indirectly. The latter was Venus’ retrograde phase earlier last year, which kept her in Gemini for four months instead of moving through in 24 days. This held Venus back and from then on she was late returning to and therefore leaving the other areas of your chart in 2020.

This meant that Venus didn’t return to your work sector until just before Christmas and just a few days before the Sun and Mercury left. That means Venus is still here and until leaving on 9th January she will continue to work to fuel your job confidence, attract opportunities and steer things in a lucrative direction. Meanwhile, while Mars returned for what should have been a six week visit to your career sector in June, a two month retrograde phase kept him here for the whole second half of 2020 and he is still here as you move into the New Year. Until leaving on 7th January, Mars will continue to fuel your professional passions, fighting and competitive spirit and to gain as much traction as possible.

Because Venus and Mars will leave within two days of each other, Venus leaving your work sector on 7th January and Mars your career sector on 9th January, the year is likely to get off to a busy start. Whether you are working through the holiday period or regardless of when your new professional year begins in terms of going back to work, Venus and Mars will be inspiring your imagination, confidence and motivation, allowing you to hit the ground running. Both leave behind resources that can keep the momentum going, allowing you to pull back and shift from a sprint to a marathon.
