Start keeping a journal of the things you eat, the hours you sleep, and the ways that you support your spirit. If you’re not seeing support for yourself, it’s time to do something about it.
You will want to start by taking care of your body in the ways that support you best. For some, this might look like eating more vegetables, while others might find they need to eat more fruit. The more that you listen to what your body tells you, the better the choices you will make. Think about how you feel after eating certain foods. If you feel better, eat more of those foods. If you feel worse, try to avoid them.
In terms of exercise, you need to get out of the office and out of the house more often. Get a friend to come with you as you walk around the block or you take a dance class. This will help you stay on track with your plans, while also helping you with your health. Though it might seem like you’re putting more pressure on yourself, the more you give to your body, the more it will give you in return.
Finally, it will help for you to get more sleep than you normally do. Even if you’re sleeping the right amount of hours a night, if you’re not feeling rested, then it’s time to change the way you sleep. Try to create a routine before bed that allows your body to know it’s going to rest soon. This might include a cup of decaf tea, a good book, and some time away from technology. The more you can create a nighttime habit, the more restful your sleep will become. If your body has the rest it needs, your mind will also have the restoration it requires to feel ready for the next day.
