Health is basically good this year. Perhaps energy is not as strong as it was last year, with two long-term planets now moving into stressful aspect with you. But still, most of the long-term planets are either kind to you or leaving you alone. One or two stressful aspects are not enough to cause any serious illness. We only get concerned when we see a 'gang up' of planetary stresses.

Of course there will be periods in the year where health is more vulnerable and you need to rest and relax more and watch your overall energy. We will deal with these more fully in the monthly reports. But in general these periods are from January 1 to January 20, March 4 to May 9, June 21 to July 22, September 22 to October 23 (and especially until October 4), and December 21 to December 31 (and espe­cially from December 27 onwards).

The good news about health is that your 6th House of Health is very strong this year. You are not letting problems fester or get worse. You are making health a high priority and seem willing to undertake serious, disciplined daily regimes. What I also like here is that you are interested in long-term cures and not short-term fixes.

Saturn in your House of Health shows that you are more conservative, more traditional in your approach to health. You want therapies that have been well tested and that have stood the test of time. You are less apt to experiment these days. Generally, this shows a preference for orthodox medicine. But sometimes it can show a preference for the more traditional forms of alternative therapy (many of which are very ancient and just as traditional as orthodox medicine).

With Mercury as your health planet, it is always impor­tant to pay more attention to the lungs, arms, shoulders and small intestine. There are many natural ways to do this - but if you like you can work with the chart supplied. In addi­tion, this year it is important to pay more attention to the spine, knees, teeth, bone structure, gall bladder and overall skeletal alignment. Knees should be given more support when exercising or indulging in sport. Make sure you are getting enough calcium for bone health. Regular visits to a chiropractor will help you keep your spine in alignment. Yoga, tai chi, Pilates and Alexander Technique are also good for the spine.

With Saturn in your 6th House of Health, this is a good year for losing weight and breaking addictions. Saturn helps the willpower (and we all need all the help we can get when it comes to these things).

Saturn is your career planet. His position in your House of Health is giving us many other messages. First off, it under­scores the importance of health this year. (From a spiritual perspective, it shows that health and healing - both of the self and others - is the spiritual mission for the year ahead.) It shows that good health for you means more than just the 'absence of symptoms' but also a healthy career. A career that is expanding, growing and evolving. Career problems can actually impact on your physical health if you are not careful. It also shows that you are involved with the health of a parent or parent figure and you are as much concerned with his or her health as your own. (Surgery might be recommended to them this year, but detox will often do as much good.)

Thus you are the kind of person who has variable - constantly changing - needs in health and who responds to different kinds of therapies at different times.
